So I’ve decided it’s not much fun for other people to read about my interest in permaculture (minus the chickens!) or how I am going with my running goals.
I’ll be adding in some of my other interests like beauty product reviews and fashion updates. enjoy! xxx

So I haven’t been running for 6 or 8 weeks. Time to get back to basics…
Mon 30th – 5kms in 35 mins. terrible!!!
Weds 3rd – 5 kms in 33 mins. still not impressed. not injured tho.
Sun 6th – 6km jog in 40 mins. Then 2km walk cool down.
So I’m way outta shape, but I am still enjoying the running. Picked up a copy of a running magazine which had some awesome articles which inspired me. Also looking at purchasing Once a Runner by John L. Parker.
Also – I’ve signed up for the city 2 surf. Can I make the 75 min mark?? Hmmmm
just could not find it tonight!
ran faster, slower, in-between.
wonder where the flow went? i guess thats what happens when you take a couple of days break.
am hoping wednesday will be easier. tempted to make it a morning session just to see the sunrise.
time – 5kms in 30 mins and walked 2kms in 20 mins!
you know the American movies where one of the kids has a hamster in a cage and it running its little heart out on the wheel?
well…..thats how i feel when running on a treadmill.
the weather was a bit cool and rainy today. i don’t fancy getting sick, so off to the gym i went!
5kms in 30 mins flat. walked the last kilometre.
feeling pretty good after that, might have to make 7kms my regular distance now! wheeeee!
kicked my ass!
so i jogged 3kms in 15mins 30 seconds.
felt good on the way. it was relatively easy. nice not to struggle much!
on the way back i was stuffed. walked most of it and got home in 25 mins.
the sun was killing me , should have drunk more than 600mls of water before i left as i got sooo dehydrated.
lessons learnt, next time, drink/take more water.
don’t go when it’s soo hot!
only prob is jogging along the freeway is so much better than going on a treadmill and feeling like a hamster.
and a clear blue sky. sounds like a beutiful day right?! right, it is!
just not when you go jogging!
jogged faster in the sunny parts, walked in the shade and got there in 14 mins 30 secs.
was so spent after that, walked home in 25 mins.
came home looking like a beetroot, might head to the pool to cool off.
yesterdays run was tough. on the way out there was cloud cover and a strong wind coming towards me.
did the 3kms out in 15 mins 10 secs.
on the way back the sun was out and the wind stopped. felt like i was being fried/melting into the concrete path. ugh.
jogged 2kms in 11 mins and walked the last 1km home.
today i finished work late.
as much as i love the freeway track, i don’t wanna hang out with the graff kids and whatever dodgy characters lurk in the shadows after sunset.
so off to the gym i went. set the treadmill on 10 – which means jogging at a speed of 6 mins per kilometre.
get this, i jogged 6kms NON STOP in 36 mins.
this is amazing for me, i normally get to 2, 2.5 or 3kms and wanna walk for 200 metres and have a drink of water.
tonight – nup!
didnt need water, didn’t need to stop and walk from getting out of breath.
words cannot express to you how awesome this feels!
having accomplished this, i know im not far from getting to 10kms without stopping. that is my next goal!
today i jogged the first 3 kms in 15 mins 10 seconds.
went a bit slower out than last time as i had a niggle.
not sure if its a slightly sprained muscle or the beginnings of shin splints.
the way back was better than saturdays.
i had more left in the tank and covered the 3 kms in 18 mins.
so i guess i need to keep the pace around 15 mins on the way out,
so i can keep increasing the amount of time spent jogging on the way back.
progress
